FAQ

Do I have to be there?
Do I have to be there?
We ask that you are with us while you decide what you want to keep or recycle. However, we can carry out the clearing, tidying and organising alone. Of course, if you'd prefer to be included in the entire process we are happy to work with you throughout.
Will I be made to throw things away?
No, we won't force you to throw anything away that you don’t want to get rid of. They're your possessions and it's your choice if something stays or goes. We can help you consider why you want to keep a particular item, as in order to benefit from our help it's important to let go of things that you no longer need. We do understand that this can be difficult, and we won’t ever pressure you to part with things unless you feel able to.
Do I need to buy more storage?
Ideally, we like to try and reuse the storage you already have in your home, but if you have a clear idea of what you want your space to look like that requires new storage solutions, we can discuss ideas in advance. This also applies to labelling, and can have labels made up in advance if you have a particular aesthetic in mind.
If we need to buy any items before your booking such as packing boxes, bubble wrap etc, we'll discuss this with you beforehand and include it on the initial pricing email.
Do I need to clean before you come?
No. We can clean shelves and cupboards and storage spaces as we go. If you want a full cleaning service after our session, we can organise this for you from a third party.
What if I have to cancel?
We ask that you aim to give us as much notice as possible if your plans need to change. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, your 50% deposit will not be returnable.
What areas do you cover?
We're based on the Essex/Hertfordshire border and can travel up to 50 miles.
How does it work from start to finish?
When you first contact us we will have an initial telephone conversation to discuss the area/s that you want help with. We will then ask for some photos to help us plan and prepare for any storage issues. If you have a clear image of your end goal we will ask you to send pictures or a pintrest board. We can then provide an estimate for how long the job is likely to take and if you're happy to continue, we will confirm a date.
Decluttering can be tiring both physically and mentally, so we'll be guided by you in what areas are a priority and what your end goal is and the speed at which you'd like to work. Some clients prefer to block book for an entire house clear-out, but others find it easier to break this down into more manageable sessions.
At the end of your booking, we'll take a car load away with us and this is included in the cost of the service. If you're clearing larger items and require a skip or van for removal, we are able to arrange this via a third party. Charges for this service will be extra and discussed in advance.
How long does it take?
You can see some examples for common spaces below. However, it's important to note that these are estimates only, and each project can vary depending on size and how much there is to clear initially.
